Himayat Sagar lake
   
Himayat Sagar lake is 20 kilometers distant from Hyderabad city. Himayat Sagar lake lies parallel to another lake-Osman Sagar. Himayat Sagar lake is the smaller lake of the two. Himayat Sagar lake is named after Himayat Ali Khan.

The grassy area adjoining the lake is an ideal picnic and recreation spot. The road atop the bund is popular for a good road drive. A part near the dam is green and ideal for a picnic and a small stretch of road on top of the dam can be a pleasant drive or walk

The Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar reservoirs provided continuous water supply to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad until recent but due to growth in population it was not sufficient for water supply to Hyderabad city.

Himayat Sagar” remains ideal picnic spot for tourists and localities, as it is surrounded by grassy banks with cool breezes of fresh air supported by natural vegetation. Here one can find guesthouses of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) and resorts that provides the option of having to unlimited fun.
